Biography of Charles Honoré
Dr. Charles Honoré
Dr. Charles Honoré is a surgical oncologist at Gustave Roussy, specializing in the treatment of sarcomas and other rare gastrointestinal cancers.
Over the past fifteen years at Gustave Roussy, he has gained extensive experience in complex oncologic surgery, having performed more than 2,500 procedures on cancer patients. He is also a member of the board of directors of the French Sarcoma Group and contributes to several national and international networks dedicated to the management of rare cancers.
He has held several leadership roles at Gustave Roussy, successively heading the Sarcoma and Complex Tumors Committee, the Department of Visceral Surgical Oncology, and then the Department of Anesthesia, Surgery, and Interventional Procedures.
On the scientific front, he is the author or co-author of more than 180 publications and regularly presents his work at national and international conferences. His research and teaching activities focus primarily on surgery for sarcomas and rare cancers, as well as on organizing access to medical expertise in these fields.
In particular, he is committed to ensuring equitable access for patients with rare or complex cancers who live far from expert centers. He has developed oncology cooperation initiatives with several overseas territories, including the RCP Pacifique, and contributed to the development of a surgical teleassistance service. He currently divides his time between Gustave Roussy and the Armed Forces Health Service.
