Short Story Kiosks

Thanks to the Crédit Mutuel Foundation, Gustave Roussy has installed six reading kiosks throughout the Institute, allowing all patients (adults and children) to choose short stories (1 to 5 minutes long) from a selection of 40,000 titles at no cost. These kiosks are located in the Institute’s lobby, on the outpatient consultation floor, in the chemotherapy day hospital (ground floor), in the CT scan waiting room (-2), in the specialized oncology emergency department (+1), and in the pediatric and adolescent oncology department (+9).

At the Day Hospital

To make your visit to the outpatient hospital easier (treatment during the day and returning home in the evening), several convenient features have been implemented:

  • An area where you can set up, charge, and work on a computer
  • A “break” area where snacks and beverages are provided for patients

In the room

Television and Internet

In your room, a personal tablet allows you to access—for a fee—TV and radio channels, games, and high-speed Internet. Internet and TV access are free in the day hospital and pediatric units.

Personal Belongings and Valuables

You are responsible for your own dentures, hearing aids, glasses, and contact lenses. The healthcare team can provide you with a labeled box.

We ask that you come without jewelry or valuables. However, these items may be deposited in the Institute’s central safe. Please note that Gustave Roussy accepts no liability for the loss, damage, or theft of your personal belongings.

Catering

Fast Food

Our cafeteria, "Chez Gustave," offers two dining areas:

  • Gustave by Twenty, featuring build-your-own sandwiches, self-serve sandwiches and salads, snacks and hot dishes, hot and cold beverages, as well as desserts and pastries.
  • Nespresso Area: hot beverages and sweet treats to go with them.

Comfortable seating, a digital bar, a children’s area, and a terrace round out these spaces.

Patient Meals

If you have appointments throughout the day or are waiting for a hospital room, a light meal will be provided.

Please ask the reception staff on the ground floor, who will explain how the service works.

Restoring Patients’ Appetite

A customized meal service is available to patients, taking into account ongoing treatments, potential side effects, as well as patients’ tastes and religious beliefs. This service features fresh, certified products (organic, Label Rouge, etc.) prepared on-site. The selection is varied and customizable, with daily meal orders taken at the patient’s bedside.

Michelin-starred menus

Gustave Roussy and Elior have also created menus in collaboration with Alexandre Bourdas, chef at the two-star-rated SaQuaNa restaurant in Honfleur. Alexandre Bourdas collaborated with Elior’s teams to develop the recipes, train the chefs, and plate elegant, gourmet dishes. These dishes are served twice a week to inpatients and daily to outpatients.
