Quality and Safety of Care
Quality, at the heart of every aspect of our care
Gustave Roussy has made the quality and safety of care a key focus of its institutional mission. Uphheld daily by all our teams and regularly evaluated by independent organizations, this commitment has a single goal: to provide our patients with excellent care in a completely safe environment.
National and European Recognition
HAS Certification
In December 2022, Gustave Roussy was certified with the “high-quality care” designation by the Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS). This designation recognizes institutions for the level they have achieved in terms of the quality and safety of care.
OECI Accreditation
Gustave Roussy is also accredited by the Organization of European Cancer Institutes (OECI), which recognizes it as a “Comprehensive Cancer Center with research excellence.” This accreditation assesses the ability to integrate care, research, and education within a single organization.
Multiple Accolades in the Name of Quality
Gustave Roussy maintains high standards across all its activities through numerous other accreditations and certification programs:
- JACIE accreditation for stem cell transplantation and cell therapy activities;
- COFRAC accreditation for the clinical laboratory;
- commitment to the “Smoke-Free Healthcare Facility” initiative;
- EANM (European Association of Nuclear Medicine) recognition for the quality of nuclear medicine practices;
- participation in the European Reference Networks (ERNs), which bring together the best European centers specializing in rare and complex cancers;
- ISO 9001 certification: which attests to the compliance of the quality management system across several areas of the facility.
Each of these accreditations pertains to a specific area, but all reflect the same commitment: to have our practices continuously evaluated against rigorous external standards.
Patient Safety
Your role matters
If you wish to report an adverse event that occurred during your care, you can share it directly with the teams caring for you and/or report it on the national portal for reporting adverse health events.
→ Report an incident on the national portal
For any complaints regarding your care, the Patient Rights Commission (CDU)—which includes mediators and patient representatives—ensures that your rights are respected and provides you with support (see the “Patient Rights” section).
