I joined Gustave Roussy in 1999 with the goal of advancing breast cancer care. Over the past twenty years, we at the Institute have made significant contributions to advancing all aspects of breast cancer care: same-day diagnosis, precision medicine, immediate scarless reconstruction… Thanks to our collaboration with research teams, we provide our patients with access to innovation on a daily basis.

In 2004, we were the first to introduce “one-stop” consultations: all tests completed in a single day, at a time when it used to take at least three weeks to obtain a diagnosis. It was a bold move, but this approach is now recognized as an international model.

My research now focuses on “4P” medicine: preventive, predictive, personalized, and participatory. Since 2021, I have led Gustave Roussy’s Interception program, dedicated to personalized prevention and screening for people at increased risk of cancer. I am also the international coordinator of MyPeBS, a European study involving 85,000 women that aims to develop personalized breast cancer screening.

Things are changing. Not as quickly as we’d sometimes like, but they’re moving forward. The progress we’ve made must not make us forget the 12,000 deaths from breast cancer in France each year. We must detect cancer earlier, cure more women, prevent relapses, and reduce complications and side effects. I am deeply grateful to all the women who place their trust in us every day and to the extraordinary teams at Gustave Roussy.
