Professional Equality: A Concrete Commitment at Gustave Roussy
At Gustave Roussy, professional equality between women and men is a core commitment, fully integrated into our human resources policy and our institutional mission.
Each year, the Professional Equality Index measures any disparities between women and men within the organization using five indicators that focus, in particular, on compensation, promotions, and career advancement.
A score of 94 out of 100 in 2025
In 2025, Gustave Roussy achieved a Gender Equality Index score of 94 out of 100, reflecting a proactive policy promoting workplace equity.
This achievement is based in particular on:
- 20/20 for individual raises;
- 15/15 for promotions;
- 15/15 for the handling of returns from maternity or adoption leave;
- 39/40 for pay equity.
These results reflect the attention paid to equal treatment throughout employees’ careers.
A Largely Female-Dominated Leadership
Gustave Roussy also stands out for its high representation of women in its leadership bodies.
In 2025, women accounted for 54.4% of senior executives and members of governance bodies, a level higher than the targets set by the Rixain Law, which mandates a minimum of 30% starting in 2026 and 40% starting in 2029.
A Structured Action Plan for 2025–2027
To build on this momentum, Gustave Roussy has adopted a 2025–2027 Gender Equality Plan, structured around six priorities:
- Promoting professional equality starting with recruitment;
- Ensuring equal treatment in career paths and compensation;
- Increasing gender diversity in leadership roles and decision-making bodies;
- Encouraging work-life balance;
- Prevent and combat sexual harassment and sexist behavior;
- Integrate a gender perspective into research activities.
Through this ambitious plan, Gustave Roussy reaffirms its commitment to actively contributing to national and European initiatives promoting gender equality and the representation of women in scientific professions.
