Summary
The BioInnov unit aims to accelerate the development of innovative biotherapies in oncology, particularly for solid tumors with a poor prognosis: lung cancer, triple-negative breast cancer, kidney and pancreatic cancers, as well as several pediatric cancers (glioblastomas, osteosarcomas, neuroblastomas). The unit also focuses on liver metastases and multiple myeloma.
Drawing on the ecosystem of excellence at Inserm, Gustave Roussy, and Paris-Saclay University, BioInnov conducts cutting-edge research in biology, immuno-oncology, and nanomedicine to better understand the mechanisms of action of biotherapies, identify new biomarkers, accelerate the discovery of therapeutic targets, and foster the development of breakthrough treatments.
The unit develops innovative approaches in cell therapy, synthetic biology, chemobiology, and therapeutic nanovectors. It also incorporates innovative pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic strategies to optimize the transfer of innovations to clinical practice.
BioInnov also fosters numerous academic and industrial partnerships, notably through its coordination of the MONO-CHEM project, funded by the “Innovative Biotherapies” PEPR as part of the France 2030 plan. The unit also supports the emergence of startups—such as Signadori Bio and Recobia Therapeutics—that have emerged from its research, and is actively committed to open science and the commercialization of innovations developed by Inserm.
BioInnov’s organization is based on two complementary teams, structured into thematic groups to ensure a continuum ranging from basic research to clinical translation.
