Inaugurated this year, the Gustave Roussy Prize returns in 2026 to honor a researcher whose scientific discoveries have had a major impact on cancer care. Endowed with €200,000, this prestigious international award recognizes groundbreaking contributions to oncology.
Applications are now open and will be accepted until September 4, 2025. The winner will be announced on World Cancer Day, 4 February 2026.
A pioneer in oncology, Professor Gustave Roussy revolutionized cancer medicine by establishing dedicated cancer consultation in 1921. Established to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Professor Gustave Roussy birth and the 100th anniversary of the Institute that bears his name, the Gustave Roussy Prize recognizes a leading researcher in oncology, whose scientific discoveries in diagnosis, treatment or prevention, have led to significant improvements in patient care or understanding of the disease.
This prize celebrates scientific excellence and patient-centered innovation in line with Gustave Roussy's mission: to cure people more effectively.
The €200,000 prize is one of the most generous global awards dedicated to fight against cancer.

Applications will be reviewed by an independent jury of international experts, based on criteria of scientific excellence and clinical impact, without distinction of discipline or institutional affiliation.
