Brain Tumors Sponsorship
Sponsor the brain tumor research team
Month after month, your support accelerates brain tumor research toward new breakthroughs
Thanks to state-of-the-art radiation therapy equipment, the teams at Gustave Roussy have made major strides in the radiation treatment of brain tumors, making it possible to better preserve healthy tissue. However, the prescribed radiation dose remains fixed, regardless of the specific characteristics of the patient’s tumor or the treatment’s expected effectiveness.
It is for these patients that the high-level expertise of Dr. Charlotte Robert and Dr. Frédéric Dhermain’s research team is absolutely essential—it is for them that your donation makes a direct difference.
Brain tumors in France:
- 5,000 new cases per year
- 3,000 deaths per year
- Over 90% of patients with primary brain tumors are treated with radiation therapy
Through your sponsorship, become a driving force for innovation and accelerate brain tumor research for the direct benefit of patients!
Innovating to improve brain tumor care: two flagship research programs:
● Developing algorithms to predict the effectiveness of radiation therapy by analyzing a vast amount of retrospective
data ● Applying artificial intelligence to other innovative treatment combinations (radiation therapy and immunotherapy, radiation therapy, radiation therapy and nanoparticles, etc.)
Goal: To personalize radiation therapy for brain tumors using artificial intelligence to improve efficacy and reduce side effects
Benefits for patients:
● Anticipate the risk of relapse using a predictive score for radiation
therapy efficacy ● Develop innovative and more effective
combination therapies ● Reduce and prevent side effects
Annual program budget: €150,000
Becoming a sponsor means taking part in a great scientific adventure every day
What if, for just €8.50 a month*, you could help accelerate brain tumor research?
With a regular donation of at least €25 per month (or €8.50 after tax deduction), you become a valued partner of your research team.
Your sponsorship provides essential support for bringing innovative projects against brain tumors to fruition.
Our research on brain tumors will advance thanks to you
Dr. Charlotte Robert, medical physicist
The regular support we receive from our sponsors is essential… because it allows us to implement technological innovations, such as artificial intelligence, to benefit patients. Recently, for example, we used AI to teach computers to predict which patients will or will not respond to immunotherapy by analyzing their CT scan data. The algorithm is able to better characterize the tumor and detect what the doctor’s eye cannot see. This type of ambitious project—which could not be realized without the help of our sponsors—will ultimately allow us to personalize treatments for each type of tumor and patient.
Dr. Frédéric Dhermain, Oncologist and Radiation Oncologist, Chair of the Neurology Committee
Sponsorships are invaluable… research in radiation therapy combined with artificial intelligence will enable us to understand why tumors are resistant in certain cases and to identify the most aggressive areas of the tumor to predict the risk of relapse. Analyzing patient data will allow us to determine the most effective and best-tolerated radiation therapy dose for each individual. Thanks to these donations, we will be able to develop new, tailored treatment strategies that will treat patients more effectively. We also aim to offer a personalized neurocognitive rehabilitation program to prevent complications. Indeed, radiation to the brain can lead to long-term neurological toxicity that is sometimes disabling and must be minimized as much as possible.
