Researcher Sponsorship for Colorectal Cancer

Sponsor the colorectal cancer research team

Month after month, your sponsorship accelerates colorectal cancer research toward new breakthroughs

In France, colon cancer is the third most common cancer. It affects women and men in nearly equal numbers.

When detected at an advanced or metastatic stage, colon cancer is very difficult to treat with current therapies and leaves patients with very little chance of recovery.
Research is therefore the only hope.

It is for these patients that the cutting-edge expertise of Dr. Maximiliano Gelli and Dr. Fanny Jaulin’s research team is absolutely essential—and it is for them that your sponsorship makes a direct difference.

Through your sponsorship, become a driving force for innovation and accelerate research on colorectal cancer, directly benefiting patients!

Innovating to improve the treatment of colorectal cancer: three flagship research programs:

● Identifying the processes by which colorectal metastases spread to the liver and peritoneum
● Developing effective
immunotherapies ● Developing targeted therapies that will prevent the formation of metastases

Goal: to develop new treatments for metastatic colorectal cancer

Benefits for patients:

● Predicting the risk of relapse
● Increasing life expectancy for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer

Annual program budget: €150,000

Becoming a sponsor means taking part in a great scientific adventure every day

What if, for just €8.50 a month*, you could help accelerate colorectal cancer research?

With a regular donation of at least €25 per month (or €8.50 after tax deduction), you become a valued partner of your research team.

Your sponsorship provides essential support for bringing innovative projects against colorectal cancer to fruition.

Our research on colorectal
cancer will move forward thanks to you

Dr. Maximiliano Gelli, Visceral Surgeon

In the field of research, having good ideas isn’t enough. Building a strong relationship between clinicians and researchers, and then having the financial and human resources to test our hypotheses, are essential. Daily collaboration with a research team enriches our scientific exchanges and fosters the development of innovative projects aimed at improving patient care. At Gustave Roussy, thanks to the cooperation of various specialists, a patient’s tumor sample can be collected and analyzed in the research laboratory in less than 30 minutes. This is a considerable advantage: patient care and research work hand in hand to provide better care for patients.

Dr. Fanny Jaulin, Head of the “Colorectal Cancer Metastasis” Research Team

Preventing the onset of metastases will help patients live longer…That is the very purpose of the study I am conducting, along with my team and the doctors, and thanks to the support of our sponsors. Our goal: to understand and slow down the mechanisms by which colorectal cancer spreads. We have discovered a new mechanism for the spread of colorectal cancers in which the tumors are highly organized and move in groups of several hundred cells. This mechanism of metastasis formation was previously unknown, and with the support of our sponsors, we will finally be able to characterize it in order to develop treatments that will prevent the formation of metastases.
