Doctor Frédéric Dhermain

Docteur Frédéric DhermainDr Frédéric Dhermain is an oncologist-radiotherapist within the Department of Oncology-Radiotherapy and the INSERM Research Unit 1030 (led by Professor Deutsch), and has been the head of the multidisciplinary neuro-oncology committee at Gustave Roussy for over fifteen years.

A specialist in central nervous system tumours, whether primary (benign such as meningiomas or malignant like gliomas) or secondary (metastatic), Dr Dhermain provides daily care for both young patients (18-25 years old) and adults with brain tumours.

His areas of expertise include clinical research, early-stage trials combining radiotherapy with new therapeutic agents, including immunotherapies, as well as large-scale prospective studies, particularly within European (EORTC) and international networks. He is also involved in the validation of innovative devices for cerebral applications.

Dr Dhermain is the author of more than 150 publications in national and international journals and has written several chapters in specialised books. He is regularly invited as an expert at national and international conferences.

In addition to his clinical work, he is the coordinator of the "Brain Tumours" module in the Clinical Oncology University Diploma at Université Paris-Saclay and also serves as Deputy Medical Mediator at Gustave Roussy. He is accredited by the Haute Autorité de Santé as an expert-visitor ‘patient-traceur’ for the certification of healthcare establishments.

Dr Dhermain is a board member of the Association of French-Speaking Neuro-Oncologists (ANOCEF), has served as treasurer of the EORTC Brain Tumours Group (European Organisation of Research and Treatment of Cancer), and is a member of the European Association of Neuro-Oncology (EANO) and the Society for Neuro-Oncology (USA). He is also a member of the scientific council of the AMAVEA patient association.
