Professor Corinne Balleyguier

Corinne BalleyguierProfessor Corinne Balleyguier is an Associate Professor at Université Paris-Saclay and a radiologist specializing in women's imaging, with particular expertise in breast and female pelvic imaging. She heads both the Diagnostic Imaging Department and the broader Imaging Division at Gustave Roussy. As both a committed clinician and researcher, she plays a pivotal role in advancing oncological imaging for women, bridging clinical practice and academic research.

Professor Balleyguier trained at Université René Descartes, obtaining her medical degree in 1998 alongside her specialist diploma in radiology (DES) and a postgraduate diploma in breast imaging. She subsequently expanded her expertise with a Master's degree in Health Economics (2000), a PhD in Physics (2013), and earned her accreditation to supervise research (HDR) in 2018. Her doctoral research focused on MRI elastography applied to breast lesion diagnosis.

She leads the "Multimodal Imaging in Oncology" research team within the BIOMAPS laboratory (UMR 1281, Université Paris-Saclay), which focuses on developing and evaluating innovative imaging techniques in oncology. Working closely with physicists and clinicians, she advances tumor characterization and functional imaging methodologies.

Academically, Professor Balleyguier is deeply committed to training future radiologists. She teaches in numerous university programs (DU/DIU) covering breast, oncological, and pelvic imaging across Paris V, VI, XI, and Paris-Saclay faculties. She also contributes to radiology resident training and continuing education for healthcare professionals, with particular emphasis on organized breast cancer screening education.

She maintains active membership in several French and international scientific societies and served as President of the French Society of Women's Imaging (SIFEM) from 2019 to 2022. She sits on the Scientific Committee of the European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI) and regularly contributes to major international conferences including RSNA, ESR, and ESUR. She also serves as Section Editor for the European Journal of Radiology in women's imaging. She was also President of the national congress SIFEM 2025.

Her clinical career encompasses key positions: former clinical fellow at Necker Hospital, hospital practitioner, and since 2004, specialist practitioner in comprehensive cancer centers (CLCC). In 2021, she was appointed Associate Professor at Université Paris-Saclay, recognizing her significant scientific and pedagogical contributions.

Professor Balleyguier exemplifies precision medicine through her expertise in female imaging and translational research approach. Her continued dedication significantly contributes to Gustave Roussy's excellence in comprehensive care for female cancers.
