Organization of the Biological Resource Center

The Gustave Roussy Biobank is structured into two modules:

  • Tissue Module: This module preserves all patient tissue samples considered informative by clinicians. For these patients, the Biobank is committed to monitor donor consent regarding the use of samples and associated personal data. This module also preserves samples for health purposes as well as tissues collected for biomedical research.
  • Fluid Module: This module manages fluid biological resources (blood, urine, saliva, stool) associated with therapeutic trials, ensuring the receipt, pre-analytical processing, storage, and availability of biological resources and their associated data according to the sponsor's recommendations. This module works closely with the Clinical Research Department (DRC), in particular the Projects and Promotion Office (BPP) and the Clinical Operations Office (BOC).

Structured in this way, the biobank manages samples in the following contexts:

  • Healthcare
  • Clinical trials (sponsored by industry/academic/Gustave Roussy)
  • Institutional collections
  • Hosting external collections: UNICANCER (CANTO), CRYOSTEM.
